Congratulations to our plant pathology friends who obtained degrees recently.
Eve du Preez: Eve completed her MSc part-time while working at Cedara, for the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Agriculture and Environmental Affairs (KZNDAEA), who awarded her a bursary to complete her studies. Her MSc was awarded with distinction. Dr. Pat Caldwell acted as her supervisor for her MSc. Eve has since joined PANNAR in Greytown in a more senior position. During the course of her studies, she was awarded several scholarships and prizes e.g. Invited speaker to VII World Soybean Research Congress in Foz de Iguassu, Brazil (2003). Southern African Society for Plant Pathology (SASPP) - Applied Plant Pathology Award (2005) United States Department of Agriculture Cochran Fellowship (2005) Commonwealth Science Council Travel grant (2003) KwaZulu-Natal Department of Agriculture and Environmental Affairs (KZNDAEA) prestige merit award (2003, 2004 and 2005) SASPP Young Plant Pathologist Award (2003) SASPP Best paper (2003)
